Thomas Stec

Developer

Tom Stec was a natural addition to further strengthen our web development team; after all, he already had grappled with challenges unique to publishers like ForeignPolicy.com, a division of WashingtonPost Newsweek Interactive. While a developer there, he expanded WaPo’s print-edition supplement to a constellation of sites with more than 7 million pageviews each month. Plus, he had contracted as a web developer for PBS Newshour, Humanity United, and the Salzburg Global Seminar.

Tom is an invaluable asset to our publishing clients, and beyond, thanks to his extensive experiences creating content management platforms, developing web strategies, and providing system administration for non-profits, media, and business since 2002. He has been building applications using Drupal since its early days in 2005.

"I’m particularly interested in open systems, interactive user interfaces, and real-time data visualization. It’s great being able to explore those interests daily through my work with Phase2’s clients."

Tom is a Drupal contributor who, outside of client work, volunteers his time to local non-profits by providing technical and advisory services. He attended the University of South Carolina and is based in Charleston.
