At the tender age of three, Web Developer Charles Smith broke his IBM compatible PC’s BIOS. After his dad had to call tech support to get it fixed, Charles decided to make things (instead of break things) from now on.
And we’re glad he did, because this entrepreneurial-minded builder -- who ran a bi-monthly LAN party while in high school -- is now creating, testing, breaking (in a good way), fixing, and extending Drupal with us as a member of our exceptional development team.
“I came onboard because I knew Phase2 encourages entrepreneurship from the staff. I couldn’t think of a better team to join for building Drupal and still being able to contribute ideas that’ll help our company, products, and clients grow.”
Before joining Phase2, Charles co-founded a web development shop focused on providing PHP and MySQL services to clients and developing internal products, as well.
He earned a BS in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York. While in college, he joined the FormulaSAE team and fell in love with auto-racing, which led to his learning to fix up race cars. (Though that’s not part of his current job description … yet!)
